* 11.1% of workers in Belgium drink more than 10 units of alcohol per week
* Men (16%) and managers (15.1%) drink significantly more
* Workers in the sales of goods and services sector (15%) are more vulnerable than workers in other sectors
A recent study by HR services provider Securex shows that 11.1% of workers in Belgium exceed the Superior Health Council’s recommendations for alcohol consumption. Although this represents a 26% decrease compared to 2021 (15.1%), this figure remains worrying. Securex therefore urges companies to implement a proactive alcohol policy and offer sufficient non-alcoholic beverages at events. Securex also urges employers to make arrangements for safe transportation for workers returning home from work-related events.
