In support of traditional Fire Safety Systems, DEF suggests the addition of fire fire detection by analysis of video images for sites with complex environments.
Fire Eye is particularly suitable for surveillance of relatively spacious areas, open or semi-open, where “traditional” detection cannot be installed. Environments that are ventilated (large hangars), dusty (waste processing), or very bright (skylights), can disrupt tradtional systems such as spot, aspirating or linear smoke detectors. Nevertheless, risks remain present in these complex environments. Fire detection by analysis of video images and connected to a Fire Safety System then makes sense. Equipped with suitable focal lengths and strategically located, the cameras cover a volumetric viewing angle that overcomes the stratification phenomenon.
Combined with a range of waterproof, heated, ventilated, air-blown or ATEX housings, the Fire Eye solution can be installed in the most demanding sites.
