Pulse: from safety knowledge to safe behaviour. Five companies are helping build the behaviour measure.

Around 90 percent of accidents can be linked to behaviour. Yet almost everything an organisation reports today sits on the other side: training hours, attendance lists, ticked-off toolbox talks. Zero accidents doesn't mean the risk is gone, only that it went well this time. That is the Safety Paradox, and you'll find it in your own reporting.

What you get today
Every VR session by The Hazard Factory generates data. From it, we build a knowledge report with a score per safety theme: working at height, confined spaces, fire safety, PPE and the other themes covered in your session. You see in black and white which themes your people master and which they don't, per group. So you know which training to schedule and for whom, and you back your training budget with numbers.

What sets us apart
For four years, colleagues have stood together in the same virtual situation in our multiplayer sessions. That's where we see what people really do: who notices a colleague's mistake and actually speaks up, who takes the lead when things go wrong, whether a team stops work when in doubt. No survey delivers this, because people describe themselves differently from how they act.

The next step: from observation to measurement
With Pulse, we turn those observations into a limited set of behaviour indicators, alongside your knowledge scores, tracked over several years and benchmarked against four years of anonymised session data from dozens of sectors. Always at group level: no individual scores, no rankings, nothing sent to HR.

Pilot programme: five places
We are developing Pulse together with five companies of 250 employees or more. They receive the knowledge report from now on, four working sessions a year, first access to the behaviour measure and a preferential rate at launch, expected in 2027.
